CAPTAIN’S LOG – Stardate: 77912.17

Rear Admiral Rogers reporting

After some rest period, much needed repairs and the arrival of new recruits, the Mae Jemison has set course to the planet Vashti.

Planet Vashti was one of the several chosen as a Romulan Relocation Hub during the relocation’s efforts of the 2380s. After the attack of Utopia Planitia and Starfleet’s move to scale back operations, Vashti was left without formal support from any major superpower. Because of this, the inhabitants have experienced poverty, ethnic strife and degradation of the utility systems.

At the recommendation of retired Starfleet Admiral, Jean-Luc Picard, the Jemison will assist in the re-establishment of the infrastructure of Vashti and if possible, help quell the social unrest. Starfleet has had no presence on the planet since 2388. Therefore, we have limited information on its conditions.

I have called for the senior officers to meet me in the ready room to find the right way to help out the citizens of Vashti. Let’s hope they welcome us…. with open arms
