The Story Information
We celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Best of Both Worlds. The episode deals with a worst-case scenario where a revered Starfleet Captain has been taken over and assimilated by the Borg and how the Federation deals with this situation and how they save the sector, but what of the captain and his crew of the USS Enterprise?
35 years ago, Best of Both Worlds Part 1 aired June 18th, 1990 with the conclusion, Part 2, airing September 24th, 1990. the episode aired as a two-part episode that would change the genre of Star Trek forever. Best of Both Worlds was a follow up for fans to the episode that introduce the Federation to the Borg caused by Q (play by John De Lancie), a being within the universe with great power and the abilities of a mischievous divine entity. Due to that interaction, the Borg were able to deduce where the headquarters of the Federation was and began a journey there to begin assimilation of the entire sector.
